Embark on an artistic journey in our 8-week multimedia exploration class, where students will delve into a diverse range of artmaking techniques and mediums. From mastering the basics of transitioning from point to line and line to shape, to the nuanced play of pen and ink with fluid lines and greyscale value washes, participants will hone their skills in positive and negative space manipulation. Guided by the principles of color theory, including Josef Albers' insights, students will experiment with harmonious and discordant warm and cool color schemes, exploring abstract watercolors and mixed media textures that incorporate fabric with gesso. The course also delves into storytelling through collage, mono printing, and studies inspired by the celestial brilliance of Georgia O'Keeffe's skies and the delectable landscapes of Wayne Thiebaud's desserts, offering a holistic and immersive artistic experience.

Some materials will be included including sketchbooks, paints, markers, and graphite.
